I love how my organic teacher wrote our text...

"You will then, by process of elimination, reduce this number of possibilities to one that should be consistent with the data.  This is called science.  Alternatively, you can just guess.  Unfortunately, being both gullible and persuasive, you will probably convince yourself that the wrong answer is correct.  If you prefer this approach and are consistently wrong, you may want to consider a career in politics"

Alright, just for Caroline.

Today, we're going to talk about people.  After coming to college, there's probably one thing that sticks out about how I thnk about people.  I've just about lost faith in them.  I always liked believing that the majority of humans these days are nice, giving, forgiving, and somewhat unselfish.  But lately, I have met enough heartless jerks for a lifetime.  I've seen too many people go out of their way just to make somebody else feel bad about themselves or go and commit acts of complete selfishness, and it really depresses me every time.

The other day, I saw something that just really made me smile.  I was at the bus stop at Rawlings waiting for the bus, and this girl was walking in the bus lane to go around the crowd of people on the sidewalk.  I'm not quite sure if she knew a bus was ready to pull into the lane.  Out of nowhere, this dude picks her up and flings her out of "harm's way."  Naturally, the bus saw her earlier and decided not to pull into the lane, but just stay on the road and she wasn't in much danger, but the guy didn't know that.  Afterwards, it looked like he felt pretty foolish, and I think he was rather embarassed.  The girl dutifully thanked him for his near-heroic act and was on her way while he continued to board the bus.  It just so happened that that was my bus, too, and I was ever so tempted to find the dude and tell him it really made my day to see what he did, not because it was somewhat amusing (which it was, seeing somebody pick somebody else up and pull her aside for no reason), but because...well you know.

Write 20 random facts about yourself then tag the same amount of people as minutes it takes you to write the facts

11:20

1.  I'm only doing this because of Ben.

2. As I read Ben's list, I sat there thinking "hah...he has to do this dumb fact thing!"

3.  My face sank when I saw my name on the tag list. (but its ok!)

4.  I was born and raised (for 8ish years) in Montreal, Canada.

5.  I lived a couple of years in Montevideo, Uruguay.

6. I moved to Florida when I was in 4th grade.

7. I do WAY too much Putnam practice in my spare time.

8. I am starting to feel the need to copy off other people's fact-lists (an epidemic this thing is)

9. I keep on meaning to play tennis, but never do.

10.  I haven't done a single diff e q. homework problem since I've been in college, yet I somehow find time to do a gazillion competition problems.

11.  I actually took the Diffy Q. test from State 2004 for fun

12.  I write about math too much

13. I miss high school (mainly the people)

14.  I want another IB pinning ceremony.

15.  I sometimes play with the light on my watch to keep me entertained. (it turns on automatically when I flip my wrist)

16. I want to kill Alex's dog (Lobo)

17. During high school, I slept on the floor and couch more than I slept in my actual bed.

18. I actually get to bed before midnight almost every night these days because I'm such a good kid.

19. I have wasted wayyy too much time on Naruto these last few weeks.

20. I don't post on xanga often enough.

end time: 11:30
